When I have more time, I would like to write an extended piece (book?) on a Mormon liberation theology.the narratorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10774503436545764912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6063106.post-61925848217901732602011-04-11T16:31:46.412-07:002011-04-11T16:31:46.412-07:00Thanks for making this available Loyd. Come to think of it, I think I might have seen something like that in Dialogues book or someplace. I'll have to look again and see if it is up to the task, the possibilities you raise here seem great but potentially only preliminary.BHodgeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01751807169882645742noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6063106.post-10135019939750399142011-04-11T12:05:06.405-07:002011-04-11T12:05:06.405-07:00Bravo. This could be said a thousand times.

One idea, not sure if you were saying this but, I don't think we can define prophecy by its relevance to preaching against social injustice alone, although, practically, doctrine without such an emphasis is useless and certainly fruitless. In other words, hypothetically, there might be some prophecies which are indeed prophecies that do not address social injustice, not even indirectly. (i.e. Temple Work) So it kind of seems like liberation theology might not be an essential model to make your final point. Not that this point really matters, or effects the usefulness of what was said.JerryTedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16374590729722537580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6063106.post-87144510432570168502011-04-10T20:20:31.381-07:002011-04-10T20:20:31.381-07:0049 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one ...49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils ( prophesying ) in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.Cresley Walkernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6063106.post-56468435824653720622011-04-10T00:43:12.070-07:002011-04-10T00:43:12.070-07:00Wish you had been there too.
