tribute or fear propaganda? what do you think?

the following was shown as a 'tribute' during the republican national convention. what do you think?

    Ya know, it was recently pointed out to me that the Dems are just as into fear-mongering as the Republicans. I remember when Obama pretended to be too stupid to realize that John McCain's 100-years-in-Iraq comment meant a peacetime presence like the post-WWII U.S. presence in Germany and Japan. Then you get the occasional whiff of nonsense that McCain is going to bring back the draft. And now I'm starting to hear things like you shouldn't let a POW with a temper near the red button.
